What is softrafting?
It has been a good 15 years since we came up with it. After all, the large rubber boats we used to navigate Europe's wild rivers are practically unsinkable on flat water. You cannot fall out of it, meaning that a river that flows through spectacular scenery is ideal for a pleasant boat trip, even for families.
Budapest is one such place, offering the unique experience of gliding through the city in complete safety with a skilled helmsman.
This film was also made a good ten years ago. At that time, we worked under the OTP Travel brand. Despite the fact that we had rather good revenue right from the start, the multi-company did not see much long-term potential in it, and then Covid came along, and two years were completely lost. We only organized tours for our own enjoyment occasionally, when two travel agencies started sending us groups of German students. In 2024, we welcomed more guests here than ever before, without any advertising. We have hosted bachelorette parties, weddings (there is a separate photo gallery for weddings), and school trips, all of which were remarkably successful.
Now we have come to a crucial decision. We have purchased new, even more stable boats made of better materials, and from spring 2025, we plan to welcome families, groups of friends, companies, and individual passengers on a regular basis.
Our plan is to run programs for families and individual travelers on designated Saturday and Sunday mornings, but we also accept group bookings on scheduled weekdays in the afternoon, with any remaining places being allocated to individual travelers.
A new addition to our programme is adventure boating on Lake Balaton in Keszthely Bay. It is majestic when the great waters calm down before dusk, and rowing here at this time is a delightful experience. Ideal for school trips or as a pleasant early evening activity for holidaymakers.
Besides this, we plan to try other river programs as well, since Europe has many beautiful and scenic river sections. According to our plans, we will combine these programs with tourist activities and city sightseeing, and you can also find them on our website.
